September is a busy month for iRx Clinical Pharmacy. On 16 Sep 2023, we presented the quality improvement work done together with iCare Primary Care Network (PCN) and Marymount Laboratory at the iCare quarterly meeting. In this collaboration, we piloted a novel initiative to improve vaccination rates in the primary care setting with excellent results. The initiative is well received by the various GPs and they are very interested in having it rolled out in their clinic.
This collaboration exemplifies that close partnerships across different professional groups can add value to patient care, and eventually have a positive impact at a population level. We also demonstrated that in addition to direct patient care, pharmacists can play a vital role in quality improvement work, especially in the primary care space.
iRx is very grateful to the directors of iCare, Dr Lim Chien Chuan, Dr Chi Wei Ming and Mr Jason Ong, who put their trust in pharmacists in leading quality improvement work. This is only the start of our many projects to come. Watch this space to hear more about our collaborations!
